Identity verification — what and why
Before you can cash out, you'll verify your identity. Standard banking compliance. About 5 minutes.
To withdraw money from your OverSkill wallet to your bank, you'll do a one-time identity check. It's the same process every payment service requires — Stripe, PayPal, Square, all of them.
What you DON'T need to do this for
You can sell your app and collect money right away. Customers can subscribe, pay, and use your app — none of that requires identity verification.
Identity verification only kicks in when you're ready to withdraw to your bank.
What you'll need
- A government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID)
- A photo of yourself (a quick selfie, taken in the moment — to confirm you match the ID)
- Your business info (or your personal info if you're selling as an individual)
- Bank account details for where to send the money
Have all of these ready and the whole thing takes about 5 minutes.
How to start
Go to Account → Payments → Verify identity. Walks you through each step.
How long approval takes
- Most users: instant approval (under a minute)
- Some users: 1–2 business days for manual review (usually when the ID photo isn't clear)
- Rarely: longer if there are red flags
You can keep collecting payments while you wait. Only withdrawals are paused.
Why this is required
Banking regulations. Every payment service is legally required to verify who you are before letting you receive money. We can't skip it.
The good news: it's a one-time thing. After verification, withdrawals are instant.
Privacy
Your ID photo and personal information are handled by a regulated identity verification service (the same one most banks use). OverSkill doesn't store your ID image — we only see the verification result (passed/failed).
What if my verification fails?
You'll get an email explaining why. Common fixes:
- Photo too blurry — retake in better light
- ID expired — use a current one
- Name mismatch — make sure the name on your bank account matches the name on your ID
Resubmit and you're usually approved within minutes.
